Carl

The Boys are back in 2018!

So 2018 is finally here, we hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday break and is back ready to make some videos! We are kicking off the new year with more videos for the City of Bunbury, and the Southern Ports Authority.

Speaking of the City of Bunbury here is the latest video we produced for them about some of the things to do in the city this Summer!

We are also continuing our push into the world of 360 video and the new and exciting opportunities it offers our clients. Carl has also discovered the joys of of filming with gimbals, so much so the rest of us hardly get a look in!

IBC 2017 is over for another year

IMAG1647 20170915_094150

Well IBC 2017 is over and Carl has been checking out some of the new tech toys available to content producers the world over. New cameras, updated edit systems from Avid and Adobe, and lots of new camera stabilization systems.

The two Marks are very interested to explore Carl’s experiences with the new Panasonic EVA1, the GH5, and the updated Blackmagic Ursa MiniPro.

IMAG1654 IMAG1653Carl will be back next week where he will be thoroughly grilled by the image acquisition inquisition, check back soon to see his thoughts.

Carl is off to the International Broadcast Convention (IBC) again!

The 2017 International Broadcast Convention (IBC 2017) is on again in Amsterdam and Carl will be once more jetting off to attend (much to Mark and Marks envy). IBC provides an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their latest offerings in acquisition, post, storage, and broadcast media platforms.

From an production perspective, we have been creating and delivering UHD/4K content for nearly 4 years. In that time we built new 4k edit suites, acquired new 4k cameras, and a new 4k drone. We are not going to stop there we have our eyes on even more 4k cameras, and Carl will be looking at all the latest offerings from Sony, Panasonic, Canon, and Blackmagic Design.

New areas we are expanding into are 360video and Virtual Reality acquisition and continuing our push in delivering custom LMS content. Carl will be keeping a close eye out for IBC vendors in these fields and both the Marks are keen to see what 360 gear he looks at.

Stay tuned when Carl returns we will find out what he learned at IBC 2017!

4k Kimberly Adventure with GMi

Broome Port Sunrise in Broome, Kimberleys WA

Sunrise over Broome Jetty

Mark and Carl have just returned from filming in Broome in WA’s pituresque Kimberley region with GMi’s new Panasonic 4k camera. They spent just under a week in filming in a variety of conditions and locations (most of which were hot!) and the new Panasonic DVX200 camera performed beautifully in all of them.

Filming at Broome Port.

It was GMi’s first working trip into our states top end, but 2016 will see us spend quite a bit more time up in the tropics. More info about those trips later in the year.

The filming was part of a production for the new Kimberley Ports Authority and the Port of Broome. We have now produced videos for the Albany, Broome, Bunbury, and Dampier Port Authorities. If you would like more information about this video or how we could help make your production a reality please drop us a line. We here at GEO Media interactive would love to tell your story.

Wunderschlecht 2015

Wunderschlecht 2015! GMi enters the International Art scene.

2015 saw a new collaborative venture for GMi with the filming and production of Wunderschlecht! the making of a piece of international art in Germany.
Filmed in Berlin (world capital of pop art and music) at the invitation of Instinktiv Kreativ’s Steve Jahns, Carl ventured over to filmed the piece.  With music by local Berlin artist Sascha Aviar from the Telekollegen crew – and help from Carlo, Phillip and the crew from Instiktiv, the production looks set to air on national TV and WEB in 2016 as part of a “Street Art” festival.  Looking ahead to 2016-2017 and hopefully the success of this production will see us working on a lot more in the future.

Wunderschlecht is stricktly not a German word or phrase!  Taking Wunder for “wonder” and Schlecht for “bad”, its literal translation is “Wonderfully Bad”.  It is taking some time to convince the German residents that this should be a legitimate word – watch this space as it becomes part of pop culture through our T-Shirt and merchandising campaign!

Check out the video here: Wunderschlecht!

Check out the music here: Sascha Aviar feat. #INSTANTBONER – Pong Pang (Franco Bianco Remix)

And  the artists at work here: Instinktiv Kreativ

A big shout out to all the crew in Berlin for making this possible!
