The team here at GEO Media Interactive have been again working with one of Western Australia’s premier universities, Curtin University. This time GMi have produced a video showcasing the stellar work by Curtin towards making the university welcoming and accessible to all of its staff, students and visitors.
GMi has been working closely recently with the international grain supplier Bunge. A world leading agribusiness and food company based in New York, with operations in 40 countries around the globe. We have been working with both the team here in Bunbury and the Head office in New York to produce a series of induction and corporate videos for their new export operations in Bunbury.
You can find out more about Bunge here.
Or contact us here for more info on the project and how we can help you with yours.
Exciting times at GMi as we commence building our 4K RC drone.
Custom made – by us – it will support new 4K cameras. Why custom make it? Well it comes down to flexibility of use – we want a drone that has added safety features, can carry a variety of payloads and can support new improvements in batteries, motors and cameras as they are released.
So having scoped the requirements and components needed it was off to the workshop to commence building, testing and configuring. Bring together the lifelong hobby of RC building and flying and skills in electronic implementation, our tech nerds (read Carl and Peter!) spent a week building.
We are now into the configuration and test flying phase whilst developing operating procedures and safety guidelines. The aim of the project is to prepare the way for the next drone – capable of lifting much heavier camera rigs. It will be coming soon too!
Here is the next video in our 5 video series created for the City of Bunbury, it’s called: Art & Culture. This video focuses on the diverse Arts, Entertainment, and Cultural experiences to be had in one of the fastest growing regional cities in Australia: The City of Bunbury.
GMi has recently added to its diverse equipment collection with addition of a new 1000mm Super Telephoto lens. Married up to a state of the art aluminum SLR camera cage, high definition field monitor and our beloved Canon 7D camera GMi is now able to undertake those incredible wildlife shoots in full HD.
With a magnification significantly greater than our previous best lens, this rig is already producing spectacular wildlife video. Using the latest in post production image stabilization from Avid Media Composer and Adobe After Effects we are able to use the lens to its maximum magnification, shooting wildlife at 200m or more with superb clarity. The addition of our specially sourced dedicated field monitor and rail system allows for greater focus control and quick setup.
Look out for the results in documentaries we are producing now – we are excited, and we hope you will be too!

We here at GEO Media interactive have long been looking to offer video drone services to our clients on top of our aerial video/photo services. These drones are fitted with either a Canon 5d mk3, Panasonic GH3, or Black Magic 4K cameras, and with an under-slung camera position and retractable undercarriage they offer unrivaled field of view and image possibilities. 9 years ago today GMi’s Mark Moore joined GMi’s ranks as our camera man in a day full of memories, shenanigans, and ultimately hypnosis. It was a day fondly remembered by all the staff here past and present. In that 9 years Mark has shown no desire to leave the good ship GMi (the hypnosis must of worked then… or possibly it has failed horribly) and has grown (quite literally!) with the business and helped it become one of WA’s best small production houses.
Originally Mark thought he would only be with us for a couple of years before moving back to Perth but when he discovered just how good the Southern Lifestyle is, there was no turning back. So instead we now find him not in some cramped newsroom in a city rushing for a deadline, but instead swanning around our great state filming all sorts of interesting things for us, and spending time with his wife and new son in a place he now certainly calls home.
Congratulations Mark, we’ll try and get rid of you next year, surely we will have found a way by then!
